XDJMs please recommend a Fool-Proof Digital Camera

such as which models in Canon Powershot series, or whatever other preferences you have.

Basic requirement is: it can accept generic accessories - dont want anything proprietary - so I suppose this rules out Sony, right?

Prince range: between $250 to $350.
