it seems ur tour did not include a visit to the real dividing line, which goes through the room (and the table) where the two Koreas have face-to-face meetings. (the latter costs over $100 whereas the first around $50). The same meeting room can be visited from the North side - which is usually included in the package (from Dan-dong).
