And it was this imperfect gene having pulled humans out of the mud of nature and the brutal killing ground with other animals and sheltered themselves by building civilizations. This intelligence gene if not expressed well or not supported by the social environment, and often this is the case, will fail the individuals carrying it for most members in the human world are more "normal".
This theme seems to make some sense.
However, civilization still feels often a slaughterhouse though no long an open killing ground with humans competing with the animals.
