which doesn't apply to a civilization. I don't know who invented this terrible expression. I always found it inappropriate a word to discribe the Chinese experience and future vision.

In the US, for instance, the Africans can use this expression, but not the native american Indians for they have been doomed as a civilization. The Africans didn't have this experience as a collected civilization.
