古旧十架

第一次听到《古旧十架》这首歌是由一位街头艺人用苏格兰风笛演奏，那是在苏格兰的爱丁堡城市的王子大街上。娓娓动听的旋律在苏格兰风笛的演奏下显得格外深沉，还带着一丝苍凉，引起我这位初到异国的游子心中莫名感动。那时，我傻傻地站在那位街头艺人的面前，一直到他将乐曲演奏完。从此，这首歌的曲调就沉淀在了我的脑海中。然而，直到一年多后来到美国，我才知道它的曲名和歌词，《古旧十架》（ The Old Rugged Cross ）。曲调与文字同时一起进入脑海，那是更加深刻的感受。

第二次在大街上听到街头艺人演奏这首曲子则是在挪威的Bergen。位于挪威西南海岸的 Bergen市是著名音乐家Edvard Grieg出生和成长的地方。我们全家是慕名而访的。没有想到在那里也听到了我所喜爱的这首歌。象多年前第一次听到它一样，我一直听到这位街头艺人将乐曲演奏完。他用的不是苏格兰风笛，而是手风琴。那时，年仅10岁的女儿也能静静地陪伴在我的身边将之听完。

在美国多年的生活使我了解到《古旧十架》是一首在复活节经常唱的诗歌。无论在何时、何地听到这首歌，我都会想起第一次听到它的情景和感受。这首歌对我的心灵有安静的作用，也给我带来属天的盼望。
