My neighborhood has a pear tree

Chinese pear tree. Tons of fruits every year in September. The old man would put a shopping bag on the tree, free pears, take as much as you can

No one wants it. Mostly rot on the ground or eaten by the wild animals.  I really don't need to plant a pear tree in my own yard.
