Packers Win NFL Super Bowl (VOA) ZT
The National Football League's Green Bay Packers beat the Pitt*****urgh Steelers 31-25 in the league championship game, Super Bowl 45, at Cowboys Stadium outside Dallas, Texas.
Green Bay raced to a 21-3 lead during the first half but the Steelers refused to surrender in their bid to claim a record seventh Super Bowl triumph.
The Steelers' Rashard Mendenhall scored on an eight-yard run early in the third quarter to cap a five-play, 50-yard drive and trim Pitt*****urgh's deficit to 21-17. Then Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers connected to Greg Jennings for an 8-yard touchdown pass to extend its lead to 28-17.
In the fourth quarter, Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethli*****erger threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Mike Wallace and pitched to Antwaan Randle-El to convert a 2-point conversion.
That brought the Steelers to within 3, but they got no closer. Green Bay's Mason Cro*****y sealed the win with a 23-yard field goal in the game's final minutes.
