'what is the shortest distance between two hearts'? i asked a tailor
he replied: 'about one third of of their combined girths', pointing to a married counple

'what is the shortest distance between two hearts'? i asked a general
he told me: 'depending on whether you measure it by foot, by tank or by air'

'what is the shortest distance between two hearts?' i asked a mathematician
he said: 'the geodesic between the two, whether euclidian or hyperbolic'

'what is the shortest distance between two hearts?' i asked an artist,
he draw two hearts on paper and showed me the distance between the closest curves

i say no to the tailor, no to the general, no to the mathematician and no to the artist
i say that the shortest distance between two hearts is the reciprocal of love, of only love
