This is an expressive poem with an interesting meaning. At first, I thought the woods was just a distraction that leads him away from all his obligations. Yet as my instructor explained, I agreed with her interpretation of the woods as an escape from his responsibilities-an escape with no possible way of returning. He is in the cemetery and is lured in by the temptation of eternal rest, of death. But in the end, he decides not to enter the woods and continue with his journey. This is a beautiful poem indeed.
