In the Bible, Joseph did more than flaunting a coat. He dreamed impolite dreams
and brag about them: in short, that his brothers and father would bow down to
him. It would happen in the end, but meanwhile he was thrown into a pit and sold
as a slave to the Egyptians.
He should thank his stars, however, that he was not in China, where his God had
no jurisdiction. Under the rules of filial piety, he'd grow eyes in the back of
his head after those damning dreams. Besides, the Chinese have a saying: an
innocent guy commits a crime by owning jade. Everyone knows better than showing
off. It could be much worse for Joe.
