Pursuit of Happiness

Human desires, a default drive to seek mental and physical pleasure, are limitless, and are embedded in a rather ironic form.  The essence of human desire is to have more, but your desire for more is worse when you have more.

The game of fulfilling one's desire is a game of endless pursuit.  Human desire always points to things one does not possess, but after the specific object of a desire is acquired, the mind can only hold the sense of fulfillment briefly. Meanwhile,  fulfillment induces new and stronger desire. If we call the mental state at the fulfillment of a specific desire as Happiness and the mental state with a not- yet-fulfilled desire as Greed, then greediness easily beats happiness. Individual's pursuit of happiness is an endless cycle that, at the best, can only be very briefly fulfilled.
