the New Yorkers (people). I am not sure the metaphor ("wearing a dream upon your hair") works here. I think it will take time to put words together in a more readable way. This is my suggestion: Make a list of key words you will use in your piece. Then google them one by one and see how native speakers put them in their sentences.
