By law, most of the land lords need to shampoo the carpet and paint the wall before they rent out. Does this landlord wants to transfer this cost to the previous customer?
Chinese customer may need to clean their oily kitchen, but the landlord should take care of any normal wear and tear.
Just my 2 cents.
