金叶美国梓叶片硕大，新叶金黄色，随着时间的推移，逐步变为黄绿色。金叶美国梓分枝多，冠幅大，冠幅可达十余米。景观效果明显，树姿优美、色泽艳丽。白色的穗花，钟形，两行成山脊形的黄色大斑点，点缀着许多紫色的小斑点。
