请求老猫和wal-mart快答复！！这是什莫意思？？？

今天下午，我才收到一封来自“community corrections"的信。如下：
“ this is to inform you that Crown Counsel has requested that Community Corrections conduct an enquiry to determine if the matter you were involved with on mm/dd/year involving an allegation of theft under $5000 can be dealt with by way of Alternative Measures.

please attend ....for an interview with the undersigned...if you do not wish to participate in the program, please notify the undersigned and the matter will be returned to Crown Counsel in order that court proceedings can be commenced.

you may wish to consult with your own legal counsel on the process and
potential outcomes of alternative measures screening as well as your rights and your obligations prior to attending this meeting(这个意思我不大明白).. (these matters will be discussed with you in the interview)

....如果我没有理解错的话，应该是让我接受“感化教育”，看看是否可以通过教育悔改，而我就不用上法庭了？

因为我怕自己误解而误事，（因为我就要上法庭了）特地请2位给我confirm且指导一下。
