you will need to find a lawyer that does medical malpractice and bring suit in the county where the doctor lives. in that regard, it is inconvenient.

but hopefully, the lawyer does a good job and the doctor's malpractice insurance pays up quickly so you settle before the trial begins, which is usually the case. 90% of the cases settle.

don't wait for 2 long though. I think the statute of limitation is 2 years from the day you realized the malpractice happened. after 2 years, you are bared from making such claim.
