a friend of mine has a similar situation. she was bleeding for six weeks after delivery due to her OB doctor's malpractice. she suffered back pain and leg numbness afterward. but her lawyer did not think she had a case because her doctor could not forsee her present medical problem at the delivery. another reason the lawyer didn't take the case, i think, is that the lawyer can't get much from her case because she is neither dead nor badly injured. your situation is a little bit different. bleeding is a known complication for using IUD. it must be stated in the surgery documents you signed. eventhough the doctor didn't ask you about your bleeding history, if you signed the documents, you aknowledged that you knew the consequence. i doubt any big lawyer will take the case. you may try some smaller agencies. i heard that there's a time limitation on when you can still sue after a mishap. so hurry up.
