I don't think so

At least for my local US state, you have to be licensed to practice law locally.  Exempting local lawyers is usually done because they might know the judge, prosecutor and defense lawyer and create bias.   You being lawyer in China has no such problem. 

Of course, being a lawyer youself, you know that every issue has a good argument for it, if not against it.
