ASSHOLE OF THE MONTH
Say now, what's Hugh Hefner's paramour Barbi Benton[那天具體發生了什麽Wikipedia上寫的很清楚...]doing in the pages of HUSTLER magazine? To be sure it is only a small photo of her, hanging gracelessly over a steamy *****—but the fault is more hers than ours. When Larry Flynt HUSTLER's publisher, accidently bumped into her at the Suttmillers Club in Dayton, Ohio, she refused to even acknowledge his presence, much less his invitation for a drink to demonstrate that rivals can be friendly. Had she been not so rude, Flynt might have even offered her a shot at one of our juicy centerfolds[那恐怕本期就是Hugh Hefner挂在這兒了……].
As it stands, Barbi must be content with the smaller layout we have arranged here. She is, indeed, a lovely—if somewhat plastic—thing to behold; and her ascension through the ranks of Bunnydom is easily understood. Playboy specializes in smooth, seamless, sexless girls who never have their faces marred by foreheads wrinkled in throught. Within this context, Barbi is a natural: one can see, simply by looking at her beautiful though vapid face, that she has never been troubled by an attension span or a thought process. And even if Hefner did once begin to favor the charms of Karen Christy[Playboy雜志1971年12月刊的Playmate], it was rumored in Bunnyland that he quickly returned to Barbi when realized that she gave much better blow job[這是真的……].
However we must give Barbi her due. She has managed to carve out something of a career for herself as a Country & Western singer. In fact, she was doing her act in Dayton at the time Flynt ran into her.
"I felt sorry for that poor girl," Flynt recalls, "and I also had to admire her courage. Most people would let back of talent stop them. But not her. She got guts. I was especially impressed with the way she ignored those rude remarks from the customers about her singing."
