2nd thought

Do not import your car the first time you are landing if you plan to come back to the States within 1 week, rather, you should just list your car in the list of goods to follow.

If you import your car, you will need to finish all the procedure, e.g. documentation, check, reconfig, registration etc. within around 45 days. However, you will not be able to finish it in 1 week since you will get the first documentation to start the process in about 2 weeks after you land. If you fail to finish the process within the specific period of time, you may get trouble with you car later...
