any friend went to Vermont Center before?

My I-485 application form was submitted wrong several times in July to Sept. I want to go to Vermont center in person and ask them to correct the information on it asap. Otherwise I will have big trouble due to my special condition.

A lawyer told me that no appointment is necessary. But I have the following questions:
1. What do I need to prepare before going there?
2. Should I bring all the duplicate application materials I submitted before?
3. Whom should I talk to when I arrive at the center?
4. Will they be kind enough to listen to my explanation and find the previous submitted forms and correct them?
