is H1B valid if no payment ?

I filed I140/I485 concurrently based on LC. But the company will not pay us for about two months.
Q: will my H1B expire automatically? my company said it it not layoff, but I am still worried to death.
Q: in the future RFE if any, how could I explain this? for example if they ask for tax return, etc.
