If there is a gap of 1 month, it should be fine for H-1b transfer. Even though there is a need to go to embassy outside usa to get I-94 to reenter USA, u can go to Canada. Of course, u should have valid Canada's visa.

What's mentioned above is from my lawyer, not my personal opinion.
