I am working under a terrible boss --although I like the job but really hate the boss. Frankly speaking, in terms of technical ability, I am far better than my tech boss, his strength is he is native Canadian, and some good connections.
The problem was that he blocks all my ways to my administrative boss, if he is fair and a rightous person. You won't mind. As he is not my admin boss but tech boss only, he requests I report him everything. If I indeed did so as he requested, all my achievement/good work will never to reported to my admin boss/upper level management, and anything goes wrong, he will complain I did not help. He is technical inable, I did all projects planning for him, but he still does not know how to assign these tasks to the employees, as he simply cannot understand the scope of work. He promoted a Native fellow Canadian to my level, however this guy simply does not know how to handle the project, from the start, I coach him, but the tech boss reported to the senior management with all my credits turned out be theirs – He deliberately set up meetings to block my connection with the client, where I have well established, simply wanted/intended to steal my clients/credits,... and to balance his power ---
Could someone advise the best ways to deal with such a boss? Thanks in advance. My PC does not support Chinese inputs, sorry to submit this request for help in English.
