Wonderland Trail(9) -- Paradise River to Nickel Creek
Day9, 8/1/21, Paradise River to Nickel Creek(10.9 miles, 2,500ft gain/3,100ft lost)
P1, 据说今天这一段可能是WT上最boring的,会经过Reflection lake和Box Canyon。 Paradise river to Reflection lake 大概不到2迈的距离,Reflection lake是著名景点,开车可以到的,游客很多。我们计划起早到那里,避开人群,结果今天的天气还是不好,在湖边等了很久,期待云开雾散,结果没有,我们看到的是这样的:))

P6, 今天虽然路上没有太惊艳的风景,但是有一个福利,一路上各种各样的莓,蓝的,红的,金黄的,一边走一边摘让我们吃个饱,都是天然organic的。T帅哥给俺捧来这一把,颜值特高,我让他自己享用,可他说不敢,说这是牛妹子在前面摘的,让他带给我。好感动啊,这小妞没白疼她,LOL!当然我们很遵守LNT,特意问过Ranger这步道边上的各种莓让不让摘,答案是可以的。

P7, 今天步道的中间有一段washout滑坡,小心点儿没问题,我们全体都是从这里过。如果不敢,可以走外面的公路,Stevens canyon附近。

P13, 我们今晚的营地, Nickel Creek Camp。前面提到过Rainier国家公园里很多地名都是纪念先人前辈的,这Nickel Creek原来是纪念Edwin A. Nickel,Chief architect for the National Park Service Branch of Plans and Designs。查了一下,Indian bar shelter(明天我们的营地), Summerland shelter(后天我们的营地), Fremont lookout, Tolmie lookout 都是在他的指导下设计的。又长了一个知识! Gobbler's knob也是在Nickel指导下的。

P14, 这个营地是我们住过最小的,5个帐篷背靠背的。营地周边蓝莓也很多。
