In 2005, a classic blue and white Yuan Porcelain Vase – Gui Guzi Descends the Mountain – was sold for 230 million yuan at Christie's in London, setting the world's highest auction record for Chinese art at the time and bring everyone’s attention to Yuan Qinghua porcelains. Since 1979, Rao Keqinin has been trying to replicate Yuan Qinghua in Jingdezhen. The Palace Museum never collects modern work except for Rao Keqin's Gui Guzi Descends the Mountain vase, because it represents the level of modern replication. YIT visited Rao Keqin’s family in the Sanbao Village of Jingdezhen, "You must make good porcelains, when you are no longer around, they are still here.”
