1. 小孩:Don't change horses...........................until they stop running. 原句:Don't change horses while crossing a stream. This leads to another common saying: If it is not broken, don’t fix it.
2. Strike while the........................................bug is close. 原句:Strike while the iron is hot 这是中文的‘趁热打铁‘ I saw this modernized twist, quite funny: Flame while the newsgroup thread is hot.
It's always the darkest before.........................Daylight Saving Time. 原句:It's always the darkest before dawn。 I came cross this one, I like it a lot: It’s darkest always before a test.
Never underestimate the power of ....................termites (木蚁。 Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups. Actually, there is a phenomenon - mob mentality or crowd mentality: 5. You can lead a horse to water but .......................how? 原句:You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. 6. Don't bite the hand that..................................looks dirty. 原句:Don't bite the hand that feeds you。
7. No news is........................................................impossible. 原句:No news is good news 8. A miss is as good as a ......................................Mr. 原句:A miss is as good as a mile You can't teach an old dog new ..........................math. 原句:You can't teach an old dog new trick.
10. If you lie down with dogs, you'll.........................stink in the morning. 原句:If you lie down with dogs, you will get up with fleas. Here’s another proverb with the similar structure: If you lie upon roses when young, you will lie upon thorns when old.
