Unfortunately, a car insurance policy is not like a Netflix subscription. You can’t just add any driver to your policy and share the costs.
Typically, for multiple drivers to be on the same auto insurance policy, they need to live in the same household. However, there are some situations in which you may be able to add someone who doesn’t live with you to your car insurance.
You might have a child in college who doesn’t live with you but uses your vehicle when they’re home. Or you could be going through a divorce and wondering which spouse’s policy your teen drivers should be included on. You might also be looking to add friends or adult family members who don’t live with you to your policy, but in most cases, this won’t be possible.
