I had never got any ticket in the last 7 years. But earlier last month, I got one ticket when I backed out in a parking lot and bumped into another car coming from behind. I got a careless driving ticket because of this, and will get 2 points in my record. Which option is better for me?: plead guilty and take a driving class, which can hopefully take the 2 points off, or hire a lawyer, try to get the 2 points off (although the lawyer may not guarantee to win the case)? I don't know whether hiring a lawyer brings additional benefit in this case and would appreciate any suggestions and comments.
I got another ticket (cell phone ticket) when I attempted to dial a telephone number when driving slowly. I was told by the policeman that I would only need to pay the fine, and no points will be added. Does anyone here have any suggestion as to whether I should just pay the fine without doing anything else?
This is my first time experiencing this, and I was very frustrated for having to spend so much time on it. Hope to get some advice from here. Thank you.
