Most of the roads have no guardrails and no embankment,

 

shear cliff after a few feet of shoulders. A few years ago, there were two incidents a car went off the road and landed in the ravine below, only to be found months later after missing persons report.

Slow down and watch the traffic in the opposite direction at the hair-pin turns.

One has to admire the people who built the road a hundred years ago.
