and you should take pride in raising a child who knows to be grateful.  She will have a happier life because of it, and more people want to help her along the way.

Nowadays, many children feel entitled while growing up.  When their attitute conflicts with reality of life, they lack the skill to deal with it.  A little gratitude on their part goes a long way.
