Math may not be so important if the major is not science/engineering.
Most IVYs students, I believe, are in liberal arts.
The cultures in IVYs are very different from tech colleges such as M, CIT, etc.
The thought process of liberal art children are also different from tech kids ( I have one each in the family). Higher level thinkings are very important.
I hope our next generation would not only become work bees. So maybe we should limit how much time children spent on math ..... maybe that would limit their potentials.
