Social study 1b

(continue from Social study 1a)

TC explained to me what social study is - to understand your community and make it better :)

She knows a lot of facts of the city and the state where we live. And very pround of it :)

1. Horseback riding turned to Carriage Tour. TC'tears came out after she was told she is not old enough for hourseback riding. For a quick fix, we arranged a 2-hr carriage tour.

2. Team work in swimming pool

The two girls who didn't know each other at all worked together to get on the snake(the plastic piece in the pool). They did't stop even though all their attempts failed. TC eventually asked an adult to push her up to the snake before the pool closed. The other girl's dad made comments before we left:" wow, really good team work!"

3. night activities

There are music and dance on this floor every night:)

4. Popular culture

The majority of the 1980 film Somewhere in time was filmed on Mackinac Island. Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve played the leading roles. There is a small theatre on the island still shows the movie. Chris's life is quite tragic - may he have a more blessed life in heaven.

5. Food

-food is rather disappointing(beautiful restaurant, yucky food:( )

-the hotel buffet breakfast (ok to me, husband is not happy about what were served)

-a view to kill

even though the breakfast stayed the same, the opportunity that we sit in the premium area for one breakfast made us very pleased:)
