I had similar experience, then I changed the direction. My hubby is experienced negotiator who I am behind and support. If some listing agent not work for us, we just simplely dump him/her and find another good one to get deal for us. 

Think about how many agents are smarter than you. Your brain will bid them if you keep your brain active. Am I overconfident? Properly.
