If you are assigned to bring in drinks, just do that is enough. They must have a plan for the pot-luck already, bringing too much food is not a good idea, specially this party is for kids. For this kind party, normally they only have pizza, veg/fruit, snack, and drinks. It is different from Chinese family style pot-luck.
