1)首先需要从HomeDepot or Lowes 买一些简单的工具,包括torch, 焊条,砂纸,焊油,铁刷,反光镜,cupper pipe cutter, gas bottle (要买黄色的,温度比蓝色的高)。
2)You have to clean the pipe (even a new pipe) very well , inside with a metal brush and outside with sand paper. This step is very critical in preventing leaking. You need to apply 焊油both inside and outside of the pipe.
3) Heat the pipe not only in the junction but also the nearby area (1-2 inches from the junction)in order to maintain a workable temperature.
4) To test the temperature, use 焊条 to touch the junction area till it melts quickly by the heated pipe NOT THE FLAME. The melts should quickly spread itself around the junction even from beneath of the junction. Then immediately use the brush to clean and polish the junction area. The junction should shine without black spots.
5) Use a tiny reflection mirror to check the quality of back side of the juction if you cannot see it.
6) Finally connect the opening end with a cupper cap, turn on water and check if it leaks.
It is difficult to describe it on paper. You can practice using a 1/2 inch cupper pipe and various connectors at different angles. It is important to assume that you cannot see the back side of the pipe in a real sitution beacuse of barricades.
