if your fingerprints are with fbi, then your fp will have a match at fbi, which will recommend a local i/v for sure. you need a lawyer by all means.

basically you need to describe what happened, and the final disposition of the case.

if you have pled guilty, then it could be considered a conviction from USCIS'point of view, even though you are not sentenced to jail.

i read a lot of discussion at immigration.com regarding this issue. it's easy to find if you go to some forums about "local i/v", "arrest"
