Only the rental car itself is covered by the CDW provided by cre

BUT, it depends on different states. NY State the liability is covered eventhough you dont have other insurance.

In BC, Canada, the rental rate includes the 3rd party liability.

Bottom line, there is no such thing called standard - you need to check the fine print as well as the State law where you intend to rent.

Generally speaking though, the CDW offered by the card is only for the damage to the rental car, nothing else.
