when I buy pants on ebay i ask for 4 measurements: waist, hip, rise and inseam. I usually get pants that fit pretty good with these 4 measurements right. perhaps you should ask the person you are buying pants for the 4 measuremtns and make sure you get the style they want cause the same measurements may look different in different styles. it should work. good luck.
