We have put 2k deposit on a house after signing the contract, but after house inspection we found there are several repairs need to be done also the traffic is more than we expected. Since we chose option 2 on the house inspection which means we can't back out unless seller refuse to make repairs, so our realtor got a deal with the seller's agent that we give 500 to the seller and terminate the contract. Later we heard that the seller was angry and want all 2k deposit. We think that's too much so we stopped payment on the deposit check. The worst case is if she sue us, the maximum she can get is 2k.
Has anyone had similar experience? Will seller make all the trouble to sue? We think we have offerred what we can.
