Tamoxifen is the past anyway (increased cereberal infarction, MI, ovarian cancer, etc.), just like you guys cited in literatures in the end of last century. You are already losing the game if you are treating diffuse late stage breast cancers.
The key to cure breast is early diagnosis and early surgery. Screening mammo is the most effective early diagnostic tool, and so many women with breast cancer get cured because of early diagnosis made by mammography. Every women should get yearly 2 view screening mammos starting at 40, higher risk ladies starts earlier. Unfortunately, in US, only part of women get screening mammos due to insurance/money and politics issues, while EU contry women get much much more coverage for the mammos. And that is why the mortality there is much lower than here.
Back to the "fight", I think one need to be careful and accurate when clinical medicine (not the research side) is concerned, although medicine is not rocket science but is close. Do you want your doctor just to feel "about right" when giving you advices.
Sorry to chip in. Just my 2 cents.
