Backyard back up to busy road?

Hi:

We saw two houses we like, but the problem is both backyard back up to local highway. Both house have been on the market for over 2 months, and both have lowered their price.We like the floor plan, size and school district. If the houses are in better location, they can sell for 450k, now it's around 390k.

I'd like to hear opinion from you guys, especially those who have lived in a house like this. Can you bear with the noise? The kitchen, family room and one bd face up to the busy road. Does it worthwhile to sacrifice quietness with better school?

Greatly appreciate any input.
