Our Client has 2 full-time contractor openings for chemists. Candidate must have a BA/BS or MS degree in chemistry. No experience is needed.
Closely related disciplines like biochemistry or environmental science could be acceptable for the BS level person but not for the MS candidate.
This position is in Richmond, CA. The candidate will be expected to work full-time and, once training is complete, may be asked to start as early as 06:00 AM to prepare equipment for time-critical tests and will be eligible for a 9/80 flexible time schedule.
People skills are important as the project team is rather large and technicians share space and equipment.
For the right candidate making excellent contribution in the initial contract assignment, this may be a contract to hire situation.
General Computer knowledge with Windows and windows based applications including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Will be trained on Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Looking for Lab Technician with strong analytical chemistry skills. The specific skills are combustion analysis (often called carbon-hydrogen-nitrogen analysis or CHN) and "wet chemistry".
CHN is rarely taught in colleges; MS level usually has more wet chemistry than a BS level chemist.
Soft skills: EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! The candidate must "work well with others" meaning work smoothly in a highly collaborative, cooperative environment. All Lab Technicians share equipment and lab space. They must work well together and with customers.
