Scientists involved in the Manhattan Project

My impression may not be accurate.
But I believe that the scientists involved in the Manhattan Project were predominantly from Berkeley, Chicago, Caltech, Columbia, and Cornell. Not MIT, not Stanford, and not Harvard.

MIT's meteoric rise in science (it had been a good engineering school) came after the end of WWII and Stanford's did not begin its climb in academia until the 1980's.
