You did very well!! #1 and #2 both are right things to do!
#2 usually can be done at home, many parents are doing that, but not many do #1. I hope more parents do that.
To take initiative to talk with teachers and school staff to make sure they understand your concerns and perspectives and to create an atmosphere at school to promote the pride, confidence and self-esteem for our children.
