XXX has been saying he has the Republican votes to get what he wants done. This is his chance. But what if he doesn't?
And as unlikely as it seems, what if he does?
We urge, plead with and beg both sides: Use Wednesday's vote as a measuring stick. Take heed of its results. Win with humility and lose with grace (yes, we can dare to dream).
But for YYY's sake, compromise. Approve a final budget. Get the funds to the schools, nonprofits and other agencies that are struggling through this mess.
