请教税收问题： 房贷税款和利息

I do not know about the tax benefit when buy a house.

The standard deduction of 1040 Form is $11,600 for joint couple. If the house property tax plus the interest is lower than $11,600, so there will be no any tax bebefit for buying a house. Is it right?
