Following article is about how FED was fighting inflation in 1970s. It took them more than a decade to get everything back to normal, until after 1986.

Now FED is just start to fight deflation. How long will it take for FED to fulfill that task?

Sometime, FED or US does not have the power to go where they want to go. If history tells us anything, then you should be aware that it would take a pretty long time to solve current situation. Any hope/wish for a quick turn around is silly.

How to position yourself is different matter. It depends on your personal financial situation. No one solution is right until it fits you. For most people, stay safe and liquidated is the key. Capital preservation is first priority when FED continues to fight deflation. No matter FED finally success or not, it will certainly take some long time. So be prepared.
