Patrick Wayne Swayze (/?swe?zi/; August 18, 1952 – September 14, 2009) was an American actor, dancer, and singer-songwriter. Having gained fame with appearances in films during the 1980s, Swayze became popular for playing tough guys and romantic lead males, gaining him a wide fan base with female audiences, and status as a teen idol and sex symbol."

Patrick Wayne Swayze , appears to me, some sadness in his eyes - that's what I got from his TV series "North and South" - he died of cancer at 51 year old. It came to my surprise that he married his teen sweet heart - "

Swayze was married to Lisa Niemi for 34 years beginning on June 12, 1975; they had no children. The couple met in 1970, when Swayze was 18 years old. Niemi, 14 years old at the time, was taking dance lessons from Swayze's mother.[24] In a 2008 interview, Swayze stated that Niemi was the inspiration for his hit song, "She's Like the Wind" (1987).

In 1989, Swayze said, "I've always felt there was something different in there (my personality), but I was scared to look. For I fear I wouldn't find anything. That's the reason I got into Buddhism, took EST training, was into therapy, into Scientology, into Transcendental Meditation. I was trying to support that side of myself. But, you know, in Texas there isn't much support for that part of you."[25] He also had said he was interested in and loved looking into different [religious] belief systems and faith[s], how it matters to other people, and how these various religious teachings are important to him in his world. "

He searched and didn't find his peace in materials world.

My take homes message: Friendship conquers the difference - you gotta know personally.

"Fiske who hated Orry for being a planter is seen again at Mt. Royal late in the war and doesn’t burn the plantation. If Orry hadn’t made friends with Fiske then Fiske may have always hated southerners and burned Mt. Royal."

"I love this beautiful story of love during the Civil war in North and South Carolina and of an everlasting friendship, specially because like PATRICK SWEZY, and all the renown actors and actresses that appear throughout this story."

Ken Burns

Battle Hymn of the Republic,是怎样由女诗人 Julia Ward Howe在睡梦中醒来的灵感之作。 Glory! Hallelujah!”

影片的尾部,第八集,题名是“War Is All Hell”。

南方人要独立,北方人要统一,北方的林肯以解放黑奴为借口,用武力打趴了要独立的人,使南方人永远不敢提要独立的事;
