suggest downtown hotels for night scene. Doubletree by convention center and Sheraton by station square have the best view. The chinese food is lousy though. You can take any 61 or 71 bus go to Oakland from downtown ($2), which the universities located (Pitt and CMU). Andy Walhol museum, Carnegie Science Center (good for kids), theaters and all major league sports are all in downtown area. Carnegie Museum of nature history and fine art and Phipps Conservatory in Oakland. Have fun!
